“Suppliers of Freedom” tour

The Mill at Anselma was almost 30-years old when the fight for independence began. According to Iron & Steel Heritage, “Our area of Chester County supplied the fight for freedom with iron products, food, medicines, and textiles. Washington’s army at Valley Forge would not have survived the winter of 1777-1778 without support from the surrounding countryside.” You can explore these sites with the “Supplying Freedom Tour” (see purple route at left) created by Iron & Steel Heritage. The 4-hour self-guided tour begins at Historic Yellow Springs, followed by The Mill at Anselma and eight other heritage sites.
